Ben Marcus: The Flame Alphabet

Arrangementsinformasjon

Ben Marcus' experimental authorship has earned him broad praise. The Flame Alphabet, now available in Norwegian, is – in the words of The Independent – "most substantial book (...), and the closest to what might be called a proper novel".

The marvelous and scary premise of the novel is that the sound of children's speech has become lethal. The young parents Sam and Claire are at the centre of the narrative. Their only means of survival seems to be to flee from their daughter, Esther.

We meet Marcus in conversation with author and editor John Erik Riley.
